It was a privilege to be part of the “Festa da Luz” or Party of Light at the O Marco Art House, side by side with such amazing artists.
Two pieces were on display, a 3-bottled light pendant and the table light shown in the leaflet picture, an overlayed glass bottle supported by a boot-shaped wood.
The most amazing things happen by chance! It was by chance that I got to know about O Marco, an old house in the small village of Buarcos, in my native Figueira da Foz, repurposed to an independent art gallery. It opened its doors only in the summer of 2021 and in this brief period it hosted an amazing array or plastic artists and musicians.
When I got to know about this initiative, casually scrolling on Instagram, I was already working on a new lighting piece and as the final composition was revealed, it just seemed to fit so well with the O Marco Art House concept.
Even though O Marco was meant to be an short-lived initiative, I just hope it gets a chance of re-birth in the near future because these spots are just so few and needed to democratize art.
Thank you Bruno!
